What is a filter pump?

A filter pump is a pond pump that is suitable for pumping dirty water from your pond to a filter. The filter pump is characterized by a filter basket, often with a high dirt passage, so that you can capture this in your filter. Your filter pump is often on 24/7 and all year round. It is therefore wise to choose an energy-efficient pond pump.

Yes, you can also use the BluFlow filter pump in a dry setup. To do this, remove the filter basket and connect an inlet hose adapter to the pump.

The pump is not self-priming, so always ensure that it is supplied with water by placing it below the water level.
